13 Interesting Facts About Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal means "Crown of the Palace". It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is built on the south bank of the Yamuna River in the Indian city of Agra. It was designed by architect Ustad Ahmad Lahauri; he was a Persian from Iran.

1. Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal (Arjumand Bano Begum) who died giving birth to their 14th child. She was his third wife. Their union lasted for 19 years and led to the birth of 14 children.
2. The construction of Taj Mahal started in the year 1631 and got completed in the year 1653. That is it took 22 years to be completed. Its construction cost is estimated to be 32 million Indian rupees. An estimated 20,000 labors were recruited for its construction. More than 1,000 elephants were used to transport the heavy building material.

Some of the major teams we are going to miss in this edition of FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia are United States of America, Netherland, Italy, Chile and Cameroon. Italy The 4 times World Champions failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1958. They finished second in their group, behind Spain.
